How this site handles affiliate relationships

Last reviewed 2026-08-30

Readers deserve to know whether money changes hands behind the articles they're reading. This page explains our stance on affiliate links and advertising, and how that stance is kept separate from what we actually write about Windows security tools.

Our position on affiliate links

This site does not run download links or purchase buttons for the software it covers, and it is not a storefront. Where a page discusses a product tier, such as Malwarebytes Free versus Malwarebytes Premium, that discussion is written to explain the difference, not to route you toward a purchase.

If that ever changes for a specific page, any commercial relationship will be disclosed on that page itself, near the relevant content, not buried in a footer.

How editorial decisions are made

Coverage decisions — which topics we write about, what a feature comparison says, which FAQ questions we answer — are made independent of any advertising arrangement. Our editorial policy describes the standards writers follow, including sourcing and fact-checking expectations.

Advertising versus editorial content

Like most independent publications, this site may carry display advertising to support the cost of research and hosting. Advertising is visually distinct from article content and does not influence which claims appear in a guide or how a feature is described.

Frequently asked questions

Do you earn money if I download Malwarebytes through this site?

We do not host download links or take a cut of software purchases made elsewhere. This site is a reference resource, not a distribution channel.

Is this the official Malwarebytes affiliate program?

No. This site is independent and unaffiliated with Malwarebytes. If you're looking for the company's own partner or affiliate program, that information is published on the vendor's own site, not here.

Where can I read more about your editorial standards?

See our editorial policy for how we research, write, and correct articles.
